The best ship store on Lake Travis for Devil’s Cove explorers
You’ve already researched it. You know what the scene looks like at Devil’s Cove – dozens upon dozens of boats lined up in the sun, with music thrumming across the water and the smells of sounds of the ultimate lake getaway for Austinites.
The Northshore ship store is the closest Lake Travis marina stop to Devil’s Cove and the most convenient. Multiple attendants are standing by at the four fuel pumps, so you can head in and grab your ice, snacks, and beer and come back out to a full gas tank.
Want to have fun right at Northshore? Our docks are home to a hospitality deck with lounge chairs, a propane grill, television, private showers and restrooms, and a strong source of free Wi-Fi.
Get on the lake fast: the largest express tram on Lake Travis
On top of the 1940s engineering that made Lake Travis the reservoir it is today is a practical piece of local transit that showcases the engineering finesse of a system that can transfer up to 3,500 pounds in one trip.
Lake Travis runs two commercial tram systems, products of Austin Dock and Tram, the most prominent independent dealer of incline elevators in the United States. The larger tram allows boaters to haul large gear from their vehicles to their boats (we also transfer inventory on this tram) up to 3,500 pounds at one time. The second tram – known as the express tram – is a more efficient mode of transit that ferries up to 1,200 pounds to the docks in one trip.
The Northshore Marina trams not only take every bit of possible grunt work out of your visit – they will move you from your vehicle to the cool covered shade of your boat slip in a matter of minutes.
