Some are flooding in and out of the ship store, gathering provisions for their day out on the lake. Others stroll on the docks, catching up with familiar faces and mapping out their day. Dockhands meet you right where you need them to be, lending a hand or throwing out a line, helping people out with questions as they file on and off the docks, and fueling your boat.

Nestled right along the northern shores of Lake Travis, the marina is only a short cruise away from iconic destinations such as Devil’s Cove and Starnes Island. You could toss an anchor and have a float in the quintessential lake gathering spot and hop off the boat for a swim to shore to explore a nearby island, all in one day.
Naturally, after spending the day exploring the shimmering waters of Lake Travis with family and friends, everyone cruises on back to the unofficial meeting spot, Northshore Marina, to debrief on the adventures of the day.
Evenings With Friends
As the afternoon sun begins to dip lower in the sky, the energy shifts at the docks. People cruise back, staff fires up the grill in the pavilion, and members gather round to share stories of their major wipeout on their tube, or their battle with a bass that would not quit.
Some will head into our air-conditioned bathrooms, take a quick shower, and meet up in the communal area where the TV is flipped on, dinner is on the grill, and drinks are being fished out of the cooler.
Every Season Has a Tradition with Lake Travis Events
If there’s one thing we prioritize at Northshore Marina, it’s the community. To us, that means full-service staff, there to answer questions and support you with anything you may need, as well as marina events that are highly anticipated each year.
We are proud to host at least 10 events every year, keeping our tight-knit community together all along the way. Yes, many of them involve a costume.
Some of Northshore’s Favorite Annual Traditions Include:
- Spring Cleanup: Kick off boating season by helping keep Lake Travis beautiful. Members gather to clean the docks and shoreline while reconnecting after the winter months.
- Easter Egg Hunt & Potluck Brunch: Families come together for egg hunts, crafts, homemade dishes, and a morning of lakeside fun for kids and adults alike.
- Mother’s Day Brunch: A relaxing morning by the water dedicated to celebrating the moms who make every family adventure possible.
- Start of Summer Party: One of Northshore’s biggest events of the year, featuring a new theme each season. In 2026, the “Coastal Cowboy” celebration paired live music, costumes, and fundraising for Folds of Honor.
- Father’s Day Brunch: Great food, good company, and a chance to celebrate Dad before another day out on Lake Travis.
- Summer Barbecue Potluck: Homemade brisket, ribs, family recipes, live country music, and neighbors gathered around the grill make this a true summertime favorite.
- Northshore Luau: Hawaiian shirts, tropical food, island-themed games, and live music transform the marina into a little slice of paradise.
- Docktoberfest: Celebrate the arrival of fall with bratwurst, pretzels, craft beer and cider tastings, and dockside live music.
- Thanksgiving Potluck: Members share a holiday meal while collecting canned goods to support families throughout the Jonestown community.
- Ugly Sweater Potluck: Break out your most outrageous holiday sweater, your favorite crockpot recipe, and enjoy one last community gathering before the year comes to a close.
- Lake Travis Lighted Boat Parade: Boats dressed in thousands of holiday lights cruise across Lake Travis in one of the area’s most anticipated seasonal traditions, bringing together Northshore Marina and neighboring marinas for a festive waterfront celebration.
No matter what season it is, the Northshore community is always around. These are the types of traditions that keep families and friends coming back year after year and welcome new members into the Northshore family.
